Photo and signature identification is required
Acceptable forms of photo identification include:
- Florida driver license
- Florida identification card issued by the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles
- United States passport
- Debit or credit card
- Military identification
- Student identification
- Retirement center identification
- Neighborhood association identification
- Public assistance identification
- State of Florida concealed weapon or firearm license
- Employee identification card issued by any branch, department, agency, or entity of the federal government, state, a county, or a municipality
- Veteran health identification card issued by the United States Department of Veterans Affairs.
If photo ID lacks a signature, additional ID with a signature is required. Without ID, provisional ballot can be used, later reviewed by canvassing board for eligibility.
Assistance for Voters Who Need Help Reading or Marking a Ballot
Under Florida law (Florida Statutes § 101.051), a voter who needs help reading or marking a ballot because of blindness, disability, or inability to read or write may receive assistance when voting:

“Any elector applying to vote in any election who requires assistance to vote by reason of blindness, disability, or inability to read or write may request the assistance of two election officials or some other person of the elector’s own choice, other than the elector’s employer, an agent of the employer, or an officer or agent of his or her union, to assist the elector in casting his or her vote. Any such elector … may have one of such persons read over to him or her, without suggestion or interference, the titles of the offices to be filled and the candidates therefor and the issues on the ballot.” Florida Legislature

If you choose your own helper, they and you will be asked to complete simple oaths before assistance is provided, as required by the statute. Florida Legislature
This means:
- You may bring someone with you to assist you at the polling place, as allowed by statute. Florida Legislature
- You may also ask for help from election officials (poll workers) if you prefer them to assist you.
Early voting locations offer the following services to ensure accessibility:
- Spanish language assistance is available to assist Spanish-speaking voters.
- ADA-compliant (Americans with Disabilities Act) voting equipment is provided to accommodate voters with disabilities.
